Hain and Mary Swope live in Clifton, NJ. Hain was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA, and pursued his higher education at George Washington University where he earned both his undergrad in pharmacy and law degree. He is an experienced chemical intellectual property attorney who officially retired from Gibbons PC in Newark in 2007, and has remained with them in a part-time capacity since his retirement. Mary was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and moved to Clifton when she was 10 years old and has lived there ever since. She furthered her education at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Montclair, NJ. She is a retired legal secretary. They have been married for 32 years and have raised four children together, have 3 grandchildren – Emily, 15, Sarah, 11, and their youngest, 6-month old, Andrew, will be baptized here at FCC on November 10th. They were introduced to FCC by Heather Cherrey who was their Pastor at St. Paul’s UCC in Nutley. They made a commitment to travel when they got married and have lived up to that commitment over the years. They belong to the North Jersey Corvette Club–driving with club members on both short and long trips, social dinners, and sponsoring an annual car show that raises money for charities. They enjoy most of the summers at their retreat in the Poconos. Music and reading are other passions of both. Hain plays both classical and jazz piano. Mary likes to sew, cook, and bake.
