Welcome to the FCC Children & Youth Page!
The FCC Children & Youth Ministry provides children and youth with a place of sanctuary and affirmation, by honoring their truest selves as God’s good creation. We are a ministry grounded in progressive Christian theology, committed to promoting social justice. We provide children, youth and their families with the spiritual, social and emotional tools and support they need to navigate their own faith journeys.
Sunday School: Our Sunday School consists of children from age 4 through Middle School, and meets during service each week.
Senior High Youth Group: At FCC, the Senior High Youth Group aims to build community and participate in justice making. From a Mystic’s Eve Spiritual overnight to a summer experience in a Maya village in Belize, FCC finds innovative ways to provide a safe and affirming environment for kids to explore themselves, their Spirituality, and the global community. The group meets at least twice a month and engages in one service experience or overnight each month. This vibrant community includes two adult mentors, Elizabeth Honer and Sean Kelley, whose dedication for the kids is only matched by the joy they bring to the group.

Sacred Talk: Who: Senior High Youth Group. Where: Second Floor Youth Room. When: Second and fourth Sunday of every month during church. Believing that the Bible should be read in one hand with the newspaper in the other, the Senior High Youth Group explores how our spiritual tradition can inform both personal development and illuminate contemporary community circumstances. The group grows together during this time of open sharing that blends humor, music, and discussion.
Camp Bernie: Camp Bernie is a weekend retreat, gathering Youth Groups from all over New Jersey. Kids can bond as they participate in theater, sports, and outdoor activities. The Camp Bernie weekend is open to all sixth through twelfth graders.
Mystic’s Eve: Amidst candlelight, friends, and spiritual mentors from multiple faith traditions, eighth through twelfth graders will hear the wisdom, still their thoughts through guided meditation, and feel the Spirit flowing through the air. This mystical, unplugged overnight occurs annually in late October.
